Baeza, Jaén

Learn Spanish in Jaén, the world’s largest producer of olive oil and home of Baeza and Úbeda, two historical and monumental towns that have

Baeza along with the neighboring Ubeda are UNESCO World Heritage sites since 2003. The city is known for the legacy of its monuments and for housing a university since the 16th century (currently the International University of Andalucia). It was a strategic point in the retaking of Al-Andalus by the Christian monarchs.

When during the program you visit Ubeda, you will enjoy its historical center of Arab origin and all of what the city has to offer both culturally and artistically.

The hotel is re-built from its monastery origins conserving its renaissance style. It is located in the historic center of the town, near the Town Hall and the plaza. All rooms are fully equipped: you will have your own room with television, phone, wifi and an en suite bathroom with a shower plate, and blow drier.

The food will consist of typical local dishes, as well as other well-known Spanish dishes. Breakfast will be a buffet and lunch and dinner will be a choice of two starters and two main courses. The starters can always be substituted for a salad. If you require special food, be it vegetarian or allergy-friendly, please let us know before your arrival.

Location details

Úbeda and Baeza are located just over 300km South of Madrid.  We organize transport from and back to Madrid, leaving on the morning of the first day of the program and coming back in the evening of the last day of the program.

During the spring and summer Baeza has (very) warm and sunny skies and temperatures that range from 21°C – 35°C (70°F – 95°F). Last summer was a particularly hot summer though! During fall and winter months the area enjoys mild weather, some breezy days are common, but showers are not.  A warm jacket should always be included in these months, especially during the evening when temperatures might drop to about 10°C (32°F).
